You too can HELP!

My life over the next three months will be dedicated to serving and improving the lives of the Ugandan people on a long-term basis. My hope is to begin by becoming a volunteer at the local children's hospital in Mbale, and teaching new mothers about infant care and women's health. I am also eager to meet the children and teach basic first aid, nutrition, and disease prevention: handwashing, sexually transmitted disease prevention, etc.

As we seek to create new, sustainable projects it requires monetary assistance from the HELP International Organization. Any contribution is significant in creating more efficient and long-term programs for these local individuals. I would greatly appreciate any donations towards our efforts in Uganda. If you are interested in sponsoring a specific project, a portion of my trip, or just making a simple donation, please let me know.

If you would like to mail a donation, please send to the following:

HELP International for Ashley Alexander

Provo, UT 84601

online donations can be made at:

Please be sure to include my name so it can go towards my efforts and program costs!

Thank you so much for your willingness to serve those who are less fortunate and will greatly benefit from your donation! I appreciate your love and support as I go forward this summer!

Uganda, Here I Come!

On May 8th, I will be embarking on my first humanitarian trip abroad to Mbale, Uganda! I will be serving on behalf of HELP International which is a non-profit organization based here in Provo, Utah. We will get the chance to assess the needs of the community when we arrive and initiate projects and programs that can be sustainable and life changing for the local Ugandan people. I am SO eager to go and serve my fellow men and I know that they will teach me far more in return. I will detail all my experiences, pictures, projects, etc. here on this blog as I will not have phone access but periodic access to the internet will help me communicate our progress and successes there!

I would like to thank the following for helping sponsor my trip to Uganda and providing means to alleviate world poverty:

Blake and LouAnn Alexander
Jo and Don Alexander
Mark and Bonnie Cutler
Courtney and Nathan Grover
Allen and Jeanine Blatter
Gaylen and Jill Grover
Ted and MaryAnn Mitchell
Wayne and Cathy Allred
Sharon Jonas

and of course, my wonderful mom and dad-- Marsha and Blair
Thank you SO much for helping make this trip a possibility so that I may serve our Heavenly Father's children in Uganda!

More updates to come!!
